ESPLANADE
There’s a place where
I like to go everyday
In Redondo Beach, L.A.
It’s a street where
You’ve got a view of the bay
And it’s name is Esplanade
Sand and surf and breeze
Makes me a Beach Boy
And I can dream
When I’m on Esplanade
Eat a sandwich
Watch the dolphins go by
Down on Esplanade
Like a movie
The scenes unfold for your eyes
Down on Esplanade
Sand and surf and breeze
Makes me a Beach Boy
And I’ll daydream
While I’m on Esplanade
Oh can you smell the sea air?
And can you tell me why
I’m now not there
Sand and surf and breeze
Makes me a Beach Boy
And I’m so glad
When I’m on Esplanade
Oh can you smell the sea air?
And can you tell me why
I’m now not there
Maybe someday
I’ll win the lotto and buy
My piece of paradise
But in my mind
I already own this
And I think it’s pretty nice
The sand the surf the breeze
I am a Beach Boy
When I’m down here
Down on my Esplanade
Esplanade
Yes Esplanade

Places Of Dreams

PLACES OF DREAMS
When I was just a small child
My mother took me to see
Steps that were built by my grandfather
Early in the century
But all I saw was Indians
And they were all around me
I felt that I was once with them
And they were my family
My father as a small child
Held onto his mother’s hand
While he watch his father swinging
From the steeple so grand
Now that young boys’ an old man
On the very same spot
He holds onto his own son’s hand
As he prepares to depart
We’ll take our walk at night on Vliet
Over to Hawthorn’s Glen up the street
And there is Bushski’s barn after dark
I see the skating rink in the park
These are all magical hotspots
They are the Places of Dreams
These are all magical hotspots
They are the Places of Dreams

Star Desire

STAR DESIRE
Star attraction
Gravitational pull
Cosmic magnates
Magically take control
Star Desire
Pulling me higher and higher
Well don’t you know that’s exactly who you are?
Moon in Pieces
Raising in the Third House
Ruled by Cancer
Fighting not to get lost
In Star Desire
Equal parts of water and fire
Well don’t you know that’s exactly who you are?
When it’s dark and dim
Caused by lack of pure light
Ignite the stars – consult with the charts
When all hope runs thin
Like it did only yesterday
Ride with the tide let it guide you away
Star Desire
You make the world – world much brighter
Well don’t you know that’s exactly who you are?
When it’s dark and dim
Caused by lack of pure light
Ignite the stars – consult with the charts
When all hope runs thin
Like it did only yesterday
Ride with the tide let it guide you away
Star Desire
Orbiting Zodiac
Endless journeys
But I always come back
To Star Desire
You set the moon and planets on fire
Well don’t you know that’s exactly who you are?
Star Desire
You’ve got this moon clearly on fire
Well don’t you know that’s exactly who you are?

It's About Time

IT’S ABOUT TIME
Once a flower child
Innocent and carefree
But I cut my hair off
It’s About Time
I packed a rifle
While living in a jungle
But I turned my helmet in
It’s About Time
Life takes us around and around
Sometimes lost and sometimes found
We’re here for such a short while
Best make it worthwhile
I made a living
Working in an office
But I took my tie off
It’s About Time
I play my music
Counting beats and measures
I made this song up
And It’s About Time
Life takes us around and around
Sometimes lost and sometimes found
We’re here for such a short while
Best make it worthwhile
Like an alarm clock
Chiming at the hour’s top
Our lives go tick tock
It’s About Time
Always fleeing
Never repeating
Just receding
From that time when we took our first breathe
Deep inside of me
Are many possibilities
I squeeze them out of me
Cuz' It’s About Time

Mystified

MYSTIFIED
Whirling swirling changing shades of red
Melting into greenish blue
Colors twist and turn inside my head
All this makes me think of you
Images
They freeze in my mind
Like the twinkle in your eye
To all that’s left
I’m thoroughly blind
I’m completely Mystified
Magic moments are so rare and true
I’ve been captured by your spell
Images
They freeze in my mind
Like the twinkle in your eye
To all that’s left
I’m thoroughly blind
I’m completely Mystified
Mystified
Whirling swirling changing shades of red
Melting into greenish blue
Colors twist and turn inside my head
All this makes me think of you
You

A Second Chance
04:04
|

A SECOND CHANCE
The gift of second chance
Is a gift to share
And it comes in pairs
A Second Chance
To give a second chance
Means you get one too
It comes back to you
A Second Chance
Everybody in this whole wide world
Deserves a second chance
Cause what goes around
Will come back around
To you one day
And on that day when you need a break
You’ll have your judgment day
And someone kindly
Will help you find your way
The gift of second chance
Is a gift to share
And it comes in pairs
A Second Chance
To give a second chance
Means you get one too
It comes back to you
A Second Chance
A second chance can fill your heart with hope
And hope will bring you joy
Make the best of it
Always enjoy it
A Second Chance
An opportunity to make things right
Is what it’s all about
Don’t you waste it
You must make it right
A second change comes with a price to pay
Responsibilities
Cause you may not get lucky again
The gift of second chance
Is a gift to share
And it comes in pairs
A Second Chance
To give a second chance
Means you get one too
It’ll come back to you
A Second Chance
A Second Chance

Young And Strong
03:13
|

YOUNG AND STRONG
We’re young and strong
And we must carry on
To meet the fight
Cuz' we’re right
And it’s our turn
The torch it still burns
The lessons we’ve learned
As time goes by
Fathers pass to their sons
Before they die
Their wisdom they share
Batons are passed
With all responsibilities
Our turn at last
We’re ready to serve
We’re young and strong
And we must carry on
To meet the fight
Cuz' we’re right
And it’s our turn
The torch it still burns
The lessons we’ve learned
Our time is now
Protecting traditions
Our rights we’ve earned
We carry the ball
The day will come
When we let our children lead
But until we’re done
We’ll lead the way
We’re young and strong
And we must carry on
To meet the fight
Cuz' we’re right
And it’s our turn
The torch it still burns
The lessons we’ve learned
We’ve earned
Our turn
Our turn – yeah

The Man Can Dance

THE MAN CAN DANCE
The Man Can Dance
Life is a chance
He shows us living
He sure can dance
We feel his pain
But he never complains
He makes us feel good
That is his aim
Fate wants his arms
Fate takes his legs
Fate wants it all
But fate can’t have him
Cuz' his spirit
It will not fall
The man can’t walk
Yet he leads the way
He cannot speak now
But says so much everyday
He cannot stand up
Yet he stands
He stands so tall
He can’t even shake hands
But he lifts
He lifts us all
He cannot stand up
Yet he stands
He stands so tall
He can’t even shake hands
But he lifts
He lifts us all
The Man Can Dance
Life is a chance
He shows us living
He sure can dance
He sure can dance
The Man Can Dance

THE STORY OF BLACKIE AND LITTLE ONE
I’ve got a story
A story I want to tell
Of a couple of gangsters
Chicago - is where they dwelled
The boss man was named Blackie
And was as mean as they would come
His sidekick was called Little One
Everyone thought he was dumb
Blackie planned to steal the gold
While in transit one fine day
They pulled it off without a hitch
Cuz' he and Little One got away
They went up to Wisconsin
To the northern woods to hide
They’d lay low for the winter
Away from prying eyes
They dragged their crate of shinny stuff
And placed it in a pond
And soon the pond froze over
The gold would not be found
As they walked back to the cabin
Blackie yelled in all his pride
His proclamation of arrogance
To the wilderness he cried
“I’m too smart for them
No one knows I’m here
I got away with the perfect crime
I truly have no peers”
“I could hide out here forever
They’ll never find me here
And the story of my perfect crime
Will be told for many years”
The days grew short with winter
And Blackie’s meanness flared
He took it out on Little One
Cuz' there was no one else to share
And on one cold December morning
Blackie screamed - where Blackie stood
“Get up and fix me some breakfast
And go out and cut some firewood”
Little One stood up and grabbed his ax
To greet the winter cold
But he stopped - and turned - and faced Blackie
He didn’t do what he was told
Bloodied footsteps in the snow
Led the way back to the pond
Where Little One hacked a hole in the ice
And pulled up what could not be found
He emptied out the container
Of all the shinny stuff
And replaced it with the body parts
Of his boss who talked so tough
As he pushed Blackie back in the hole
He could hear the eagle cry
Those echoed words once yelled by Blackie
His proclamation of pride
“I’m too smart for them
No one knows I’m here
I got away with the perfect crime
I truly have no peers”
“I’ll hide out here forever
They’ll never find me here
And the story of the perfect crime
Will be told for many years – many years”
I’ve got a story
A story I want to tell
Of a couple of gangsters
Chicago - is where they dwelled
The boss man was named Blackie
And was as mean as they would come
His sidekick was called Little One
Everyone thought he was dumb
Now Little One sits comfortably
Under the warm Mexican sun
Sipping on his tequila
He ponders what he has done
A smile appears upon his face
And those words spin in his head
The words once owned by Blackie
Are now Little One’s instead
“I’m too smart for them
No one knows I’m here
I got away with the perfect crime
I truly have no peers”
“I’ll hide out here forever
And they’ll never find me here
And my story of my perfect crime
I will sing for many – many years”
